The Release of "Believe" MV

GREEN WIND CHOIR MAKES ONLINE MV TO ENCOURAGE SPIRIT DURING COVID SEASON

Believe will be the song that the Green Wind Choir sends to everyone in a special MV, performed by nearly 100 members of the Wind family, completely online.

Conductor Nguyen Hai Yen and Green Wind Choir believe that this special MV will be a source of spiritual encouragement to everyone during the Covid-19 season, bringing optimism and faith in a bright tomorrow.

HOW WAS THE BELIEVE MV CREATED?

When conductor Nguyen Hai Yen proposed the idea of making an online MV for the Green Wind Choir, all members of Green Wind Choir’s Executive Board immediately responded. Foreign online choir singing videos have inspired the conductor and members of the Green Wind Choir. But everyone understands that making a choral MV for hundreds of people in a short period of time is extremely difficult.

But as they say, when you truly wish for something good, the universe listens and finds a way to help. The first step was choosing the right song. Green Wind had been practicing together for over four months before the pandemic forced them to pause. Among the songs, the original Japanese piece “Believe,” with Vietnamese lyrics crafted by conductor Nguyen Hai Yen, became a favorite. The lyrics brim with love and optimism, and the music is both melodic and passionate. It was this song that conductor Nguyen Hai Yen chose to create an MV, capturing the spirit of the choir.

Next, sample recordings for each section, along with a recording of the conductor setting the rhythm, were created and compiled into instructional videos with corresponding lyric subtitles. These sample videos were then shared by section leaders within their groups, encouraging members to practice on their own, record themselves at home, and submit their recordings to their respective leaders. The section leaders were tasked with collecting and organizing the audio and video files from their members before sending them to the Green Wind email. While these tasks might seem straightforward, they actually demand significant time, effort, and dedication from those involved.

Editing hundreds of audio and video files, contributed by members as young as 6 years old and as old as 80, is a daunting challenge even for the most experienced professionals. Yet, the universe stepped in to help Green Wind , bringing two mysterious but vital figures to the team: a renowned sound engineer and a seasoned post-production technician.

Despite not meeting in person, the late-night chats, countless back-and-forth emails, drafts, revisions, and edits all came together to form what felt like the most perfect, harmonious, and coordinated team. Excitement was building, not only among the members of Green Wind but also among their friends and supporters. The media eagerly picked up on the buzz, spreading the news nationwide even before the MV was officially released.

And now, the MV you are watching is Green Wind Choir’s gift to you. Music has the power to soothe wounds, bridge distances, and remind us to always love and trust. Green Wind Choir sends you our warmest wishes: Peace!
